Just dropped in from the BSV where this story has enthralled me from day one. I've friended you (hope you don't mind). Like you I read tons of fic as well as write. This story is a wonderful take on the Spike as slave H/C type of tale. Like you, I love the wonderful version being told by just_sue and also the one by dreamsofspike. Yours is different and you need not fear it "repeating" form the others.
I read some of the comments on the BSV for the early chapters and have agreements and disagreements over the AR issue. It is very personal to me as a survivor of rape so it is hard to distance my own opinions based on my reactions from Buffy onscreen. I think your Buffy is a bit more filled with hate for Spike (or his actions) than the one on screen was, but not out of character for many a woman (especially one who felt strong and invincible who was made to be vulnerable) in her boat. It was attempted rape in actions, in emotions and motives...not so much IMHO, but she has plenty of reason to hold anger at this point. Sorry to take up so much of your LJ with this comment. Please continue writing the story the wonderful way you are doing.
