OK, that was just... well, does "surreal" cover the situation? The mind, she boggles! I'm used to the "poor woobie Spike" types, and lately I seem to be finding vampire fans who seem to have completely missed the irony in Lie to Me. But yikes, it's been a while since I saw that level of pettiness!
For what it's worth (which probably is very little!) I'm enjoying the heck out of the way you write this story. Your Buffy is a very believable post Seeing Red/Grave Buffy. A Buffy who accepted Spike without questions (at least in my opinion!) would lack credibility. Plus, that would be pretty dull. It's conflict that creates the tension after all!
I also find it very credible that Buffy doesn't have the money to run out and get Spike new boots. She doesn't know his size after all, and her budget's probably stretched to the breaking point. Though after reading the BSV comments I now have a very disturbing mental image of Spike clomping around sunnydale in rubber flip-flops....
I see some answered your LOL/LMAO question though I'm disappointed no one volunteered the ITA. I've wondered about that myself. International Trombone Association? Irony Trapped Above? Honestly no clue!
